Just like our fearless vigilantes, we finally know the pain of a halted investigation. After giving us four episodes, Big Sky is back on another break. And it’s paused on another massive cliffhanger.
The last batch of episodes all centered around Rick’s (John Carroll Lynch) amnesia. But when the hospital-bound Rick accidentally confessed to kidnapping sex workers, his wife Merrilee (Brooke Smith) took matters into her own hands. That left Ronald (Brian Geraghty) to worry about. At long last, Rick’s partner in crime was identified, but he was too slippery. Episode 9 ended with Ronald in his big rig, escaping the law’s clutches yet again.
Wondering when you can expect new episodes of this ABC drama? We have you covered. Here’s why Big Sky isn’t on tonight and when the rest of this season will premiere.
Is Big Sky on Tonight?
Sadly, that’s a big no. There isn’t a new episode of Big Sky tonight.
Why Isn’t Big Sky on Tonight?
The ABC drama is taking its second hiatus. The first five episodes of David E. Kelley’s drama premiered throughout November and December of 2020. The show then took a break before returning in late January. Starting this week the series is taking another break.
When Will Big Sky Be Back?
Don’t fret; there is more creepy Ronald on the way, but we’re going to have to wait a while. ABC confirmed to Decider that Big Sky will be returning sometime in the spring of this year.
On one hand, we don’t have an official premiere date so that’s a bit disappointing. On the other hand, spring is right around the corner. Typically spring starts on March 20, which means we have less than a month before we’re back in Big Sky territory.
How Many Episodes Are Left in Big Sky?
We’re waiting on the final seven episodes of this crime drama’s first season. Originally Big Sky was ordered for 10 episodes. After it premiered and ABC saw how it was being received, the series was given an additional six episodes for its first season. We don’t know if this freshman show will be getting a second season. But with network confidence like that, another season looks promising.
