The Issue: Sen. Kamala Harris and other politicians receiving the COVID vaccine before the elderly.
Again, we are made aware of the class differential between we common mortals and the political class (“Congress vax vex,” Dec. 30).
The people who have not missed one paycheck now jump the line in front of us second-class citizens for the COVID shots.
How many times does it take for the masses to finally say enough? Politicians and now political staff are treated better than citizens. Vote these jerks out.
So, Capitol Hill staffers are receiving COVID vaccinations before seniors and first responders.
And Congress is sending billions of our tax dollars overseas while our businesses and restaurants die, but can spare just $600 to frightened, depressed Americans living in endless despotic lockdowns.
Further, they get rich during their careers of “public service” while impoverishing future generations by passing overstuffed spending bills, such as the beauty they’re currently batting around.
To my fellow citizens, I say: Wake up. They are not even pretending to work for us, yet they’re rewarded by retaining their seats election after election. Are we all insane? For God’s sake, stop voting for these people!
I was dismayed to see the story about Kamala Harris and her husband receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Similarly, recent stories highlighted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez getting vaccinated.
While President-elect Joe Biden, being elderly and having obvious medical issues, does qualify to receive the vaccine now, these younger people do not.
Why did they feel they could jump the line? I hope the answer is not that they felt entitled, but rather that they wanted to show their constituents that the vaccine is safe.
If that is the case, then the irony is striking. After all, many other Democrats declared that they would not take the vaccine because it was a “Trump” vaccine, which obviously it is not. As if the president worked in a lab to produce it. Please.
There should be anger against members of Congress and their staff members getting vaccinated before so many others.
They are our country’s least essential workers, and I don’t even consider what they do to be work. They really are just a drain on our struggling economy.
It would be too easy to just vaccinate by age, starting with those over 70, and then work down the list.
Unfortunately to members of Congress, they are the royalty, and we taxpayers they are supposed to serve are the peasants.

What chutzpah! I thought Kamala Harris would not get a vaccine that was developed by a Trump administration.
In the meantime, seniors in New York are not able to get the life-saving vaccine, while young, healthy congressional aides are receiving it.
This is exactly what the Biden/Harris administration is going to look like.
This aggravates me. How can Kamala Harris, who is only 56, get the vaccine before the elderly and some frontline workers?
I’m not stupid. I know it’s because of who she is. Nevertheless, that shot could’ve gone to someone who really needs it now.
She’s 11 years older than me. I was told my age group would have to wait at least six months, maybe longer. She should’ve waited, too, but I guess she’s selfish.
First, many politicians complained that the warp speed on the vaccine was too fast and it was not tested enough.
Now, they can’t wait to roll up their sleeves and get the probable life-saving fluid into their arms. And they’re showing how brave they are as they get it, so that we won’t be afraid to get the shots.
I’m 91 years old. Tell me where and when to get the vaccine, so I can be brave also.
