Peacock is hopping into the world of beloved ’80s video game Frogger with a new reality competition series, the streamer announced today. The show, titled Frogger, is described as “a larger-than-life physical competition series” that will challenge contestants to compete on a course inspired by the game.

“A worldwide phenomenon since its introduction by Konami in 1981, Frogger has remained one of the most classic and beloved video game franchises of all time with a library spanning more than 30 titles across various platforms,” Peacock shared today. “The show Frogger brings to life this popular franchise and supersizes it on an epic course! Audiences and contestants alike will be transported into a wild, whimsical Frogger world, filled with all the simple but challenging elements of the mega-hit from Konami.”

Competitors facing off on Frogger will be challenged with 12 obstacle courses or “crossings,” which will include scenarios like making their way through “treacherous traffic,” leaping over “snapping gators” and escaping “hungry hippos” to make it through the course. Video game fans will recognize that the series stays true to the original Frogger format, which challenged players to successfully lead frogs back to their home while avoiding dangers like a busy road or hazardous obstacles.

The Frogger winner takes home a cash prize, and Peacock is now casting for Frogger competitors. If you’re interested in testing out your skills on the upcoming series, apply at the Frogger casting website, www.froggercasting.com.

Peacock has already ordered 13 hour-long episodes of Frogger, which marks its first original competition series. Frogger is based on the Konami-owned IP and is produced by Eureka Productions in partnership with Konami Cross Media NY, Inc. Since its founding in 2016, Eureka has gone on to produce series like ABC’s Holey Moley, Fox’s Name That Tune, and Netflix’s Dating Around. Eureka’s Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin are listed as executive producers on the series. Frogger is an original format created by Culvenor.
