Former African slave hub transformed with giant art piece


Giant hands appear at two locations in West Africa’s Benin. Using a spray gun and biodegradable paint, French artist Saype created one hand that appears to be slipping into the ocean while another hand is pulling it back. The moving artwork is located on a beach that was one of Africa’s main slave trade hubs. The piece is a part of Saype’s “Beyond Walls” project that is creating a chain of human hands across the globe.
